Annual Residency Recipients at the EMMA Artistic Hub
International Designers to Showcase Work at EMMA Creative Center in June
Pforzheim, Germany – Three young designers from the Netherlands, the UK, and China will showcase their work at the EMMA Creative Center Pforzheim from June 28 to July 13, 2025. Lotte Schoots, Jacob Marks, and Zhipeng Wang are guests of the "Designers in Residence" scholarship program, residing at the EMMA Creative Center from April to June.
Lotte Schoots, a product designer from the Netherlands, will present her investigations into jewelry packaging and offer various proposals for packaging designs. Her focus lies in the balance between affordable and expensive jewelry packaging as well as protective containers versus those intended for presentation.
Zhipeng Wang, a jewelry artist from China, aims to combine traditional Chinese culture with the local design scene in Pforzheim. Living in Munich for the past three years to attend the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, Zhipeng Wang looks forward to exploring Pforzheim's goldsmith legacy and exchanging ideas with local designers.
Jacob Marks, a product and furniture designer from England, will research the potential applications of pine resin, focusing on its use in jewelry and lighting. Marks finds pine resin to be a versatile material for its antibacterial and waterproof properties.
Almut Benkert, head of the creative economy department at the Eigenbetrieb Wirtschaft and Stadtmarketing Pforzheim, praises the scholarship program's ability to attract international talent while enhancing the local design scene. The exhibition opening takes place on June 27 at 7 pm.
