Announcement from Serengeti Park: Public Viewing of the Attraction Now Available
Visitors to Serengeti Park Hodenhagen are in for a treat as they can now observe two new residents lounging in the sun – Clara and Heidi, the Alpine Marmots. These female marmots, well-adapted to the Alps with their thick fur and sharp claws, have taken a liking to sunbathing in their new home.
The Alpine Marmots are not monkeys, but they have certainly attracted immediate reaction from the park's monkey population. Despite their differences, Clara and Heidi have found companionship among the tree porcupines, groundhogs, and brush-tailed porcupines.
The arrival of Clara and Heidi has sparked ongoing debate among park visitors regarding their appropriateness at the Serengeti Park. One visitor questioned the reason for their move from the Alps to the Serengeti Park, but park officials have yet to release a statement.
It's worth noting that the Alpine Marmots are the third-largest rodents in Europe. These diurnal animals are known for their unique way of communicating with park visitors and can be found relaxing when not digging.
The Serengeti Park is no stranger to unique residents. In addition to the Alpine Marmots, the park is home to the Cotton-Top Tamarins, tiny primates notable for their distinctive wild white “hairstyles” and their nonstop chatter. These tamarins add to the park's ecological and visual variety, standing out among the diverse animal residents.
The park offers a 10 km safari route where visitors can encounter a variety of iconic wild animals such as giraffes, lions, elephants, lemurs, and free-roaming monkeys, providing a rich, immersive safari experience without leaving Germany. The park emphasises close-up viewing opportunities, such as the predator safari which allows watching tigers and lions closely with attentive rangers guiding the experience.
With the addition of Clara and Heidi, the Serengeti Park continues to offer an exciting and diverse animal experience for its visitors. Whether you're a fan of primates, rodents, or big cats, there's something for everyone at this remarkable park.
